Overview
The project was conducted as a longitudinal study at compulsory schools in Vienna. The surveys took place during the 2022/23, 2023/24, and 2024/25 school years.
Through a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, the study investigated the social, emotional, linguistic, and academic development of students in different school settings (German support classes, German support courses, and regular classes).
The sample consisted of students, teachers, and school principals in primary schools and secondary compulsory schools with German language support measures in Vienna. In particular, students in German support classes and German support courses were included, as well as their classmates in regular classes.
